Durban, South Africa, 18 August 2016 - It is not uncommon for artists to hold a listening session for press and industry mainstays before their albums drop. But on Tuesday (23 August), trail-blazer Mawat, plans to flip the script on the common practice by holding listening sessions on Africa’s two major cities. He has already held the Johannesburg leg of the album, now he is taking it to his hometown, Durban.

Mawat will be holding a second private listening of his 30 September dropping album BLESSED for media and industry connects during the KZN IMBIZO week on the 23rd of August in Durban. From the BLESSED album, audiences have already heard UMsindisi featuring Sfiso Ncwane; Wema and K’sele Kance on radio. Next Tuesday, as the KZN Imbizo warms up, listening session attendees will get to hear the rest of the album.
Already collecting accolades, the "I Praise God" rapper’s album, has been nominated for the Best Gospel Rap category in the highly contested Ingoma Awards 2016. With the album track-listing already published 2 weeks ago, Mawat has been posting about his album for some time now,. The track-list features Maraza (of Gwan fame), gospel powerhouse Sfiso Ncwane, Afro-Trap crooner Sjava, Nigerian star Devyne, and Cashtime Life’s Masandi to mention a few.

Mawat’s listening do will take place the cosy venue Spiga, on Florida Road, from 6pm to 9pm. With limited sitting, the event entrance is strictly RSVP. See you there.
